Thesis Goal: To enhance my compositing, real-time rendering, and storytelling skills by visualizing the aspect of hope and faith behind somebody's grieving process. Based on my personal grieving experience, this project is mainly done for healing purposes as I mourn the passing of a family member.

Ya Veras with breakdown:
Ya Veras
I am immensely grateful for all the people that helped me make this project a reality. Thank you to my family, friends and professors for all your support. This experience will forever live in my heart.
May 27, 2024 (Class 19)
For today's update, I was able to complete the film and submit it to the Juried Showcase at SCAD. Other than that, I started to put together shot breakdowns to include in the final class submission.
Other than the project, itself, I put together the press kit with the crew and project information.
May 22, 2024 (Class 18)
For today's update, I added lens effect to shots 8 (Closup of her at the Cementery) through shot 12 (Reveal of Cave)
I only need to add the lens effects for shot 1 through the cross shot and fix despill of shot 5.
Sound still need to address some minor notes.
After this, I will be finished with the project.

May 15, 2024 (Class 16)
I updated the edit with some of the notes shared during class 15 critique.
I reduced the credits length and updated the font size within the whole project.
I also included an updated version of Shot 5 (Hands meet) with fixed rotos, transparency transition and background color correction.
Sound notes I wish to share with both Grace and Emily are the following:
Hopeful music for when the souls meet for the first time
Reduce volume in the cemetery scene
Sound effect of magic is when the hand touches rock is not as convincing as when the magic appears the first time.
Chain breaking effect is not working either
Comp moving forward:
Update rock resolution in shot 4 (Hand touches rock and magic appears)
New chain for shot 2 (Kat Kimmet's work)
Add lens flares when magic appears on shot 2
Magic reflection on skin and chain on shot 2
Matte painting for shot 11 (Reveal of tomb)
Add rays on shot 11 to add to the ethereal feel
Include Lens effects on all shots (Vignette, regrain, halation, bloom, lens distortion)
May 7, 2024 (Class 14)
For today's update, I added the CG elements to shot 1, improved the track, refined shadows, and added some additional rock assets to integrate the actress better into the scene.
I was able to meet last night with the Composer Emily Scroggins. She will be working alongside the Sound Designer, Grace Nottingham, to push forward the music behind my thesis. We agreed that they will deliver the first iteration by Sunday. Hopefully, it will be part of the Class 15 delivery next week.
Space Messenger Update:
Shot 062 is almost done. Only need to refine some edges when the characters move over the right side of the window.

For today's update, I have developed a shooting plan for this weekend.
Other than that, I also worked on some early compositing and Look Development for Shot 9. Here is a still frame of how the render will look like on this particular shot.

Unfortunately, my old Hard Drive got corrupted. I was able to retrieve the plates and renders from UE5 but I can't seem to access my Unreal Engine Project from my Hard Drive. Any changes to those plates will have to happen in Comp.
Moving forward, my workflow will be compositing-heavy.
April 8, 2024 (Class 5)
I updated my post Viz with the new lit environment, caustics in UE5 and early CG test for Shot9 (Rose Integration). The remainder of the project depends highly on the shooting that will hopefully be happening this upcoming weekend. (Green Screen Room pending approval). I will be replacing the Metahumans present in this post-viz with actual actors as well as my friend, Phirada.

Progress Report:
For the remainder of the week, I will be preparing myself for the shooting this weekend, as well as continue developing CG for Shot 9 (Rose Integration)
April 3, 2024 (Class 4)
For today's update, I was able to reserve equipment for the shooting during the weekend of April 12-14. Other than that, I met with Phirada and Kat Kimmet to talk further about the desired FX work for the Shortfilm.
I also reached out to the Sound department but have not heard back from any of the students I reached out to.
Shot 9 CG Test:
I need to do some additional Vellum research to make the collision of the flower much more accurate to reality.
April 1st, 2024 (Class 3)
Weekend Work:
For today's update I was able to refine the lighting scenario within the cave environment to match the references gathered last class. I still want to refine the rock layout in some areas that are not looking as believable quite yet.

Over the weekend I was able to recruit the following artist that will help me in the project:
Phirada Kanjanangkulpunt = FX
Kat Kimmet = FX
Aidan Jones = Sound Designer
Marina Karoglan = Actress
Wednesday Work:
Updated Pre-Viz with new song for the burial Live Action scene:

Updated Pre-Viz with Live Action Footage:
The live action footage is reference. I also shot clean plates where I will be adding the actress once we shoot at the Green Screen room.
